Our Purpose is to reach out to the needy people in a three pronged approach. These are
Where we seek to stop or reduce the number of Children coming onto the street. Children are the biggest victims of poverty and dysfunctional Families. Nairobi has so many people in Slums and their Children suffer the consequences. We seek to keep the Children in schools and also support the families in their social responsibilities to the children. The support for School therefore is critical. This involves giving them basics for life and for school. We have about 15 children in this program now.
Where we seek to rehabilitate those children who are on the Streets. In a bid to cure them we seek to reach out to them, be their friends, remove from the streets those who want to, get them rehabilitated, get them educated or trained, get them equipped with skills for economic gain. All this is done in a godly loving environment with which we believe much change can take place. We are happy for this part of the work as most of the Street Children are in this section. Therefore while on the street we seek to love them, feed them even in the small way we are doing now, treat their illnesses, pray with them, seek protection by assisting them get National Identity Cards, introduce them to life skills for those who can come to the office, enable those who have sobered up start small businesses, get some to go back to school. In all these different ventures we have about 25 involved. The number could increase if we had more resources. The number could increase particularly if we had a proper place for them to settle down and be taken through a more comprehensive rehabilitation program. If we could have them in a center or on a piece of land then our level of control and support would be greatly enhanced and I am sure we could get better results.
Restorative, where we equip with skills those who have been through rehabilitation, we give them Capital( on loan, or grant,), restore them to their communities and maintain network with them. We trust that they will in turn become instruments of change too
